However, I haven't had enough snow yet. I'd like to see one good 2 or 3 foot spanking with high winds, drifts, ice sickles and double digit below zero wind chill. I'm sure most out door workers don't share this sentiment.
What's happening this weekend?
I'll be at Hennessy's in Village Green this Saturday night January 31st.
Check my web site calendar for details!

I've begun production on my CD and hope to have it released by Spring. The studio is owned and engineered by Baird Winham. I will have several other players and singers join me on some of my songs.
There are so many great musicians and vocalists in this region. If you haven't attended any of the intimate concert venues such as The Kennett Flash, Chaplins in Spring City, Burlap and Bean in Newtown Square or The Tin Angel in Philly, do yourself a favor and check them out. The abyss of corporate music is answered at these places by the men and women who are truly singing and playing their hearts out for us all. I am honored to be associated with many of these folks and the future of music is bright because of them.
Visit Swarthmore and Springfield Music stores and let my friend Al Bien show you the latest in guitars, accessories and all orchestral instruments. Music schools are on the premises and feature excellent instructors.

Generations

My thanks to everyone who made the first night at Generations one I will remember. What a difference one day makes.
I would have to hire some one if I was sending out voice mails instead of E mails. Laryngitis has claimed another victim and it's me! I will not be performing at Amici Miei Friday night and I'm bummed. I've received many E mails and phone calls from folks planning to attend. I'll have to wait a month before my next date there. However, there will be other places between now and then so stay tuned as I'll be sending out another E mail early next week.
On a bright note, last night I attended a concert at "The Tin Angel" in Philadelphia. One of my best friends from high school (Jeff Campbell) invited me to see his son Jeff Campbell Jr. perform with acoustic guitar and vocals. What a pleasure it was to hear this young man put his talents on the line in front of a packed house. Jeff Jr. is an excellent singer/songwriter who supports himself well with his guitar playing.
His original contemporary style introduced me to a genre of young musicians and songwriters that I'm so glad to know are out there. I was beginning to despair that heart felt music had been replaced by the cold hearted marketing of MTV. These kids are turning it around. I was honored to be there.

Amici Miei

Hi Everybody,I hope to see you at Amici Miei in Kennett Square this Friday night. Ben Singleton hosts the jams at The Riddle Ale House (in front of Granite Run Mall) every Tuesday night and Seamus Mulligans in Twin Oaks (intersection of rt. 452 and 322) every thursday night. Always a good time with Ben and friends as some of the best players and singers come together to honor the Blues. Both events have a starting time of around 8:30pm.
Also every Thursday and Friday, Joe Mabee with his endless list of classic tunes, brings back the memories at The Tavern at Burks Bend in Ridley Park.
(601 Chester Pike) I was there last week and had a great time. Joe invited me up to play a few songs and the crowd made me feel right at home. I hope to bring my show to Burks Bend in the near future. That's all for now. When I was a little guy and my parents would get the notion to take a ride in the evening, it was always fun to get out of the house and see other surroundings. Sometimes we'd stop at the Dairy Queen or get a real hamburger at a place called Charlie's. Other times we just cruised and looked at the country side. Gas was about 35 cents a gallon then, and Dad never had anything to say about the cost. I grew up knowing that the word "cost" was usually connected to things over twenty dollars. As the cost of living increased, gas was never a measurable contributor to the discussion. As long as people were liberated and could come and go, America had it's personal stamp on the idea of freedom. The term "hardship at the pump" translates in to the loss of that type of freedom. As long as gas was reasonable, Americans could deal with the rising costs of almost every other aspect of life. The greed mongers woke up and now they're making up for lost time. We'll never know the extent of the conspiracy waged against us by our own government but, we can be sure that no one in office will ever worry about the cost of gas. I'm not truly in to politics and I'm not trying to start a revolt. I think it's too late for that. I know some of you will read this and not relate to what I'm saying because you're doing so well and I'm happy for you. To the rest I say, remember the way it was, because we will never know that simple beauty again. We have to make it happen in our own little corner by being dear to each other and caring and helping when our loved ones fall down. Keep dreaming, hoping
loving and giving. You make America great. It's my pleasure to know you.
